In March 2022, the DLA submitted a comprehensive response to the Government's consultation on its proposals for reform of the Human Rights Act. Several DLA members volunteered to join a sub-committee which took on the work of drafting the response.
Details of the consultation are available here. In addition, a report by the Independent Human Rights Act Review Panel, set up in December 2020 to examine the framework of the Human Rights Act, how it is operating in practice and whether any change is required, has also been published and is available online here.
